Most mealworms you can purchase come from China or other countries half way around the world.  Some claim they are from California, but were actually raised in Asia before they arrived in this county.  Vermont Mealworm Farm believes that mealworms should be raised closer to the market and raised with quality food not waste food.

Our mealworms are fed locally sourced wheat bran and potatoes, all good food. We use no chemicals or additives to preserve or stop our mealworms from their normal life cycle. Whether you purchase our mealworms for you pets, fishing bait, chickens, bluebirds or to cook a high protein dish for your family’s meal, you are assured the highest quality mealworms available.

How frass is used and why

Mealworm frass is a naturally occurring product, produced from the excrement and exoskeleton of our mealworms. Mealworm frass naturally contains chitin which triggers a immune responses in plant cell walls making the plant stronger and able to help fight off disease, fungal issues and damage from pest. Vermont Mealworm Farm feeds its mealworms good food. We feed locally sourced wheat bran and potatoes. Our mealworms are grown in a clean controlled environment. Our frass is a plant and soil booster. Our frass contains all the organic elements that your plants, vegetables and lawn need to thrive. Do it right! How to use Frass

1.Mix ½-1cup of frass for each cubic foot of soil.
2. To drench plants, add ¼-1/2 cup of frass ot 1 gallon of water.
This should be done every 2-3 weeks for best results.
3. For foliar spray add 2 tsp of frass to 1 gallon of water. Always remember when foliar spraying it should not be done in bright sunshine.
